What Causes Warehouse Damage?

Nearly every occurrence of warehouse damage is caused by one of seven factors:
- Physical damage is caused when products are handled, sometimes before they arrive at your warehouse.
- Prolonged storage will cause some merchandise to deteriorate simply as a function of age.
- Some items are susceptible to absorbing foreign odors.
- Certain products may be contaminated by insects or rodents.
- Inadequate temperature control may be a cause of product deterioration.
- Some merchandise is spoiled because of chemical reactions inside the container.
- Mold, fermentation, or other bacterial action may make some food products unsafe.
