Now that the cost of robotics has come down, automation no longer seems to be a risk investment. When the cost of a robot is approximately the same as the annual wage of a skilled warehouse worker, there is a tendency to assume that automation is risk-free.
While the financial risk may be minimal, the management risk is more substantial. Automation should support human decision-making, not replace it.
Robotics may appear to be a threat for warehouseworkers, and the introduction of new technology will not succeed without the support of your people. When robotic technology is recognized as a way to make warehouse work safer and easier, the change will be accepted.
The process requires careful planning.
