Warren Buffett’s advice on hiring people is worthy of close attention:
We look for three things when we hire people. We look for intelligence, we look for initiative or energy, and we look for integrity. And if they don’t have a latter, the first two will kill you, because if you’re going to hire someone without integrity, you want them lazy and dumb.
While we presume that Mr. Buffett had tongue-in- cheek in the last part of this statement, there is little doubt that his unique reputation as an investor is based upon trust. Since warehousing is also a business that is based upon trust, the Buffett credo is worth copying and repeating.
